Dorie I do believe that most eucalyptus do yeild color and that they have to be fermented, maybe Carol Lee can chime in on this one! I've seen some of her eucalytus pots in person one had a russett color the others were shades of purples. K-

I started a thread in the Dye Plants Group on Eucalyptus if you'd like to share your experiences there! I for one would love to know more about using this plant. - Kimberly

thank you Teresa! Please post pics of your work when you are ready I think the biggest encouragement is to see what others are doing in the field, especially beyond immersion dyeing. The techniques many of us here use are definately "slow" methods if you have questions please ask.

Welcome to the Group Teresa

Well here we are

I joined this site to learn and share more about natural plant and rust and mud dyes. And all the other dyes too. Have been making felt for some time while becoming more and more concerned about the dyes in the wool that I use. I suppose that making art gives one a lot of time to think. I have not been doing much dyeing up until very recently, because I do not like or use any synthetic chemicals. I like being part of the slow clothing movement and will continue to be very interested as well as concerned about fibres and dyes. It is going to be good to share my dye works on this network.
