Hi Kimberly, I'm hoping this comment gets to you- I'm learning how to interface with this design still. Toyon is Heteromeles arbutifolia, and Coyote Brush is Baccharis Pilularis. They are native generally to CA, Oregon and New Mexico.

I am a ten year natural dyer. I use only natural dyes, mainly wild harvested, combined with my fermentation Indigo vat, and some use of cochineal and madder.
