Polygonum tinctorium is really easy to grow.If it gets plenty of space, sunshine and water , it will spread out beautifully. The hardest part is having room to grow enough. You need a LOT of leaves for a dyebath.

I'm never handled fresh indigo as I've never been able to get it to grow here. I use instant indigo mainly for my indigo vats. I have used powdered indigo in the past the reduction vat was started using Lye and Thiox along with Soda Ash as a Ph buffer.

I will defer this to other list members as I've never worked with fresh indigo plants before I've only worked with powdered indigo and instant indigo.
